Our programs can be presented at your location or you can bring your group to our station.  We have different programs for preschool, elementary, middle, and high school groups, businesses, civic groups, home owner’s associations, and older adult groups.  Issues ranging from stop, drop, and roll to the proper use of fire extinguishers are explained through the use of colorful characters, videos, songs, active learning, and hands-on demonstrations. Not just those with guns in their own homes. The program is a partnership between the Polk County School System and the Trauma Center at Lakeland Regional Medical Center (LRMC).  Volunteers who present in the program are from LRMC’s Trauma Services, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF).  At the conclusion of the program a mother and father tell their story. Programs are PRIMARILY coordinated through the school system, but is also available to other organizations or interested groups.  At the end of each session, a free trigger lock is given to each family when they turn in a program evaluation form.
